Once upon a time, there was a girl who was loved by everyone, but most of all by her grandmother. She would give anything for the little girl. What should the grandmother give her today? [[doll]] [[bouquet of wildflowers]] [[precious red hood]] (if:(history: where its name contains "doll")'s length >= 1)[This was the perfect gift! A special hood made just for the little girl, both practical and beautiful. [[Give the little girl her present]] ] (else:)[You didn't want to hear about the other options first? Let's see what she thinks about the [[doll]].] The grandmother considered gifting a doll, but her granddaughter already had so many! A [[bouquet of wildflowers]], perhaps? [[Once upon a time...]]The grandmother knew the little girl would love wildflowers, but she wanted to give her a gift that would last a long long time. Let's consider the [[precious red hood]]. [[Once upon a time...]]The little girl adored her new accessory. So much so that she wore it every day and soon received the nickname "Little Red Riding Hood". She loved and appreciated her grandmother very much, so she wanted to bring cake and a bottle of wine to ease her through her sickness. [[Set off for grandmother's cabin]]Little Red Riding Hood ventured away from the village. Her mother had warned her to stay on the path since her grandmother's cabin was far into the woods. She had travelled this path many times before, though, so she wasn't worried. But something felt off... [[Jumpscare]]The little girl froze and whipped her head around when she heard the snapping of branches behind her. She was greeted by a wolf. The little girl did not know what a wicked creature he was, so she was not frightened, just relieved the sound wasn't something worse. [[Talk to the wolf]] [[Run back home]](if:(history: where its name contains "Run back home")'s length >= 1)[ "Good-day, Little Red Riding Hood," said he. "Thank you kindly, wolf." "Where are you headed so early, Little Red Riding Hood?" "To my grandmother's," she replied. "What have you got in your apron?" "Cake and wine. Yesterday was baking-day, so poor sick grandmother is to have something good, to make her stronger." "Where does your grandmother live, Little Red Riding Hood?" "A good quarter of a league farther on in the wood. Her house stands under the three large oak-trees, the nut-trees are just below. You surely must know it," replied Little Red Riding Hood. The wolf thought about how very delicious a breakfast the girl and her grandmother would be. [[Continue the conversation]] ] (else:)[How could you not have considered running away from the big bad wolf, even for a split second?! [[Run back home]]]She was not scared, but she knew about stranger danger. So she did consider running back to the village to avoid talking to him. But her grandmother needed to be taken care of, so she stayed put. [[Talk to the wolf]]"The woods have unmatched beauty compared to the village do they not? I'm sure your grandmother would enjoy a bouquet of flowers along with the cake and wine," the wolf suggested. "Why yes, I spot a sweet little flower right there," Little Red Riding Hood pointed to the ground a couple paces off the dirt path. She detoured to pick the flower. She spotted more bunches of flowers further in the woods, so she kept wandering further and further to pick the most beautiful ones that her grandmother deserved. But the wolf, he took this time to venture away from the girl. [[Find the wolf]]The wolf reached grandmother's cabin while the little girl was still searching for flowers. He gave the wooden door a sturdy knock. "Who's there?" sqeaked the grandmother. "Little Red Riding Hood," the wolf lied. ""Lift the latch," called out the grandmother, "I am too weak, and cannot get up." [[Open the door]]The wolf barged in and ate the grandmother, too quickly for her to respond. He closed the curtains, but which nightgown should he wear to replace her? [[Red]] [[Light Purple]] What a bold choice! No, silly, this would draw too much attention to him. [[Light Purple]]What a calming color. The wolf put on the nightgown and took grandmother's position in bed, just in time for the little girl to amble in with her arms full of flowers. Little Red Riding Hood was startled to find the wooden door wide open. "Good morning," the girl called out, but there was no answer. She strolled over to the bed, only to realize how strange her grandmother looked. [[Ask about grandmother's appearance]]"Oh, grandmother," she said, "what big ears you have." "The better to hear you with, my child," was the reply. "But, grandmother, what big eyes you have," she said. "The better to see you with, my dear." "But, grandmother, what large hands you have." "The better to hug you with." "Oh, but, grandmother, what a terrible big mouth you have." "The better to eat you with." And with that, the wolf swallowed Little Red Riding Hood whole and fell asleep, full and content. [[The End]]Just kidding, $Name, we can't let it end like that. [[What happened next?]]The huntsman passing the house heard the obnoxious snores of the lazy wolf inside and became worried about the grandmother. When he stumbled inside and found the wolf he'd been searching for years to find lying on the bed, he almost used his weapon against it. But the flash of the grandmother's face crossed his mind with concern, so instead he cut the wolf open. [[Discover what he found]]"It was so frightening and dark in there!" cried Little Red Riding Hood as she climbed to the cabin floor. The grandmother followed her path out, still alive, but still sick. "What now?" [[Cry]] [[Kill the wolf]]Little Red Riding Hood immediately searched for stones and filled the sleeping wolf's belly with them. This would never happen to anyone ever again. [[Cry]] [[Celebrate]]Little Red Riding Hood became overwhelmed with emotion and dropped to her knees on the oak floor. How terrifying it was to be in there with her grandmother. She looked the huntsman in the eye, gave a profound thank you, and hugged him tight. She never wanted this to happen ever again. [[Kill the wolf]] [[Celebrate]] (if:(history: where its name contains "Kill the wolf")'s length >= 1)[ What a day it had been! The huntsman said farewell, leaving grandmother and Little Red Riding Hood to enjoy the cake on their own. The little girl dozed off with her head on her grandmother's shoulder, while grandmother indulged in wine and rambled off stories from her past. [[The next day]] ] (else:)[We can't celebrate with the wolf still with us! Let's [[Kill the wolf]].]On her walk home to the village, Little Red Riding Hood thought about the previous day's events. She decided she would always listen to her mother's instructions so she was never in a position like that again. [[Finish the story]] Predictably, they all lived happily ever after! (except for the wicked wolf) [[The End.]]Seriously, the story is over...Welcome! What's your name so we can get acquainted? (input-box:2bind $Name,"=XX=","Type your name here.")
